Albert UK offers a range of products for people suffering from Urinary Incontinence to enable them to comfortably and discreetly manage their condition.
In the UK alone there are estimated to be some 6000,000 adults that suffer from some form of Urinary Incontinence. However it is not an age problem alone, it covers all age groups and has a number of causes. Stroke patients, spinal injuries, MS sufferers and more may have this condition.
Our aim is to provide continence products to improve quality of life and discreetly enable people to manage their condition with dignity.
We are aware that one product will not meet everyone’s needs and have strived to incorporate flexibility into our products. We have achieved this by listening to peoples needs and still invite you to contact us with any needs not met by the existing range.
The basic design of the leg bag has not changed in many years and managing daily routines can be difficult particularly if your movement is limited, like bending down. Also infection problems may occur if you have difficulty in emptying the bag and decide to reduce fluid intake. Another potential cause of infection may occur if the bag overfills and reflux occurs. Most bags have a one way valve but because of the design when the bag is overly filled reflux can and do occur.
It is essential to empty the bag regularly and make sure you have sufficient fluid intake.
In order to help and encourage the user to achieve these requirements for a healthy life, Albert UK has developed a computerised leg bag system.
The computer is tiny, about mobile phone size and clips onto your waist belt.
How the system works is that it warns the wearer when the bag is 66% full. This is the recommended level such that reflux is unlikely to occur.
In addition we have replaced the tap at the bottom of the bag with a tiny pump. This enables the bag to be emptied without bending down. If a carer is required then it’s a simple matter of directing a tube and pressing a button to empty the bag.
These features overcome the disadvantages and encourage fluid intake by putting you in control.
We are constantly involved in research and development and welcome your ideas for improving your quality of life.
